Wendy Seager is a Lieutenant with the Chicago Fire Department's Office of Fire Investigation (OFI). She is Severide’s partner when he is temporarily reassigned to OFI. It is clear she has a crush on Severide and doesn’t do a good job of hiding it when both Casey and Kidd are around. Severide, however, draws a firm line letting her know he’s not interested and she takes that well.

After Severide has transferred back to Squad, Kidd is looking for a female captain to co-sponsor a program called Girls on Fire which would encourage female high school students to become junior firefighters. Kidd goes through all the female officers she can think of before Severide recommends Seager. Kidd is reluctant to reach out because of Seager’s blatant attraction to Severide but eventually does. They hit it off when discussing the plan and Seager agrees to co-sponsor.
