The Beating Heart is the tenth episode of the fourth season and the 79th overall episode of Chicago Fire. It is the first part of a three-part crossover between Chicago Med (Malignant) and Chicago P.D. (Now I'm God).
Summary[]
While a member of Firehouse 51 falls victim to a near-fatal stabbing, the other firefighters rescue a woman who attempted suicide.
Plot[]
Hermann is rushed to Chicago Med after being stabbed at Molly's by Freddie, the young gangbanger he tried to help. After losing a lot of blood, it is determined he needs emergency surgery. Cruz, feeling guilty about Hermann's condition, searches for Freddie to turn him in. Severide is reinstated as Lieutenant while Borelli grows more concerned about Chili's erratic behavior. Mouch considers finally proposing to Platt.
