Superhero is the twenty-third episode of the fourth season and the 92nd overall episode of Chicago Fire. It is the season finale.
Summary[]
Dawson hopes to foster Louie while a dangerous structure fire puts a member of Firehouse 51 in a dangerous situation.
Plot[]
Casey attends a conference and his political consultant asks him to run for state senate.
Gabby searches for a new apartment, but the one she planned to sign a lease for falls through when the owner gives the place to his daughter. Herrmann offers the in-laws' apartment over his garage to Gabby, but it needs a lot of work. The Truck 81 team comes over to help clean it up. Though the apartment doesn't really live up to the standards of the inspector from DCHS, she tells him that her firefighter family rallied together and will be there every step of the way.
Grant texts Stella a garbled message and when she calls him, he isn't very responsive. She uses "find my phone" to track him and they find him at Lincoln Park. He has overdosed. When he wakes up in the hospital, Stella tells him that he needs help and he screams at her to go.
A call comes in and the truck team files out of the sleeping quarters, with all of them trying to get Mouch to wake up. Mouch eventually does wake up, and is shown to be wearing his turnout pants already.
While on a call to a burning building, Gabby convinces Stella to go through a window to escape the fire first, since she has seniority. The fire flashes over and Gabby is stuck hanging out the window.
Jimmy's sister-in-law comes by to pick up her husband's things from Jimmy.
Gabby takes Louie home with her. Casey goes to dinner with politicians. Gabby writes a letter to Louie in case anything happens to her.
A badge ceremony is held for Jimmy's late brother, but Jimmy is absent.
Casey's political consultant, Susan, kisses Casey and leaves her room number on a napkin for him before she leaves.
Casey knocks on a white door and waits. The door is opened by Gabby and she smiles and hugs him.
A doctor finds Grant's bed empty and calls Stella. Severide and Stella make out in the dark of Stella's apartment while Grant uses a kitchen knife to cut off his hospital bracelet in the living room and leaves it on the floor.
