Steve Chikerotis is a consulting producer for Chicago Fire and a retired Deputy District Chief with the Chicago Fire Department. He portrays Deputy District Chief Steve Walker in the series.
Personal life[]
In March of 2019, Steve's son, David Chikerotis, was taken in an unresponsive state to a hospital in Chicago, but sadly passed away from injuries sustained after he was beaten[2].
Career[]
Chikerotis joined the Chicago Fire Department in 1978, he was a Lieutenant in 1991, a Battaltion Chief in 2006 and a Deputy District Chief at the time of retiring in November 2014[3]. Steve also released a book callled "Firefighters from the Heart" in 2006.[4]
Steve has advised and produced many Chicago Fire episodes since the show's creation. He was a technical advisor from 2012 to 2017 where he then became an associate producer until 2020 and then a consulting producer since then. He also consulted on two Chicago Med episodes.[5]
During his time advising and consulting on the show, he also portrayed Steve Walker - who is heavily based on himself.
