Christie resented her for 15 years that Nancy spent in jail. Her daughter stood against her on every hearing until 2012. Matt was a little more compassionate towards Nancy, because he was a witness to his father's abusive nature. Nancy explained her motives for shooting her husband by saying she couldn't let Gregory verbally abuse Matt as well and that she just snapped. However, neither Matt nor Christie understand why she is the way she is.

She does not keep in touch with her children, ever since she moved out from Matt's apartment, as mentioned by Christie in Double Red.
