Plot[]
To help Alan, Brett goes as his homecoming date to the dance and his peers all look at him in amazement for this. Heather and her date even find it hard to believe that he got a beautiful date while he basks in this attention.
Mouch comes home and is disappointed that his book deal is canceled. However, Trudy lifts his spirits by showing she has organized a book club of people, such as Otis and Cindy Herrmann, who are all intrigued by Sheets on Fire. Happy, Mouch starts to talk on his inspiration.
Much later, Wallace comes home and Donna tells Wallace someone has been sitting outside their house in a car for hours. Wallace angrily marches towards the car, asking the driver what he wants. The driver emerges from the car and says he did not mean to scare the family, but found it weird to just go inside. Wallace is shocked to find it is only his stepson, James. James explains that he was surprised when he got the text from Wallace that he thought it right to surprise him back. After sharing a hug with him, Wallace introduces James to his wife.
