Going to War is the second episode of the seventh season and the 139th overall episode of Chicago Fire. It is the first part of a three-part crossover event with Chicago Med and Chicago P.D. The event starts with Going To War, continues with When to Let Go and concludes with Endings.
Summary[]
Firehouse 51 is faced with a daunting challenge when an out-of-control blaze consumes a 25-story apartment complex, trapping victims on the top floors. Complicating the rapidly escalating situation, members soon discover that someone close to home may be one of the trapped victims.

- Boden is the one to say the title in this episode.
- In Season Ten, episode nine, it's revealed that Jason Pelham was present during the high-rise fire.
- The fire that was tackled was dubbed the Highrise Fire.
- In the beginning of the episode, Boden mentions a friend of his who died on the line of duty. That friend is named Herbert "Herbie" Johnson who is a real person. He was the Captain of Tower Ladder 39 out of Engine 123 in Gage Park neighborhood. He died on November 2nd, 2012 at a residential fire in the Back of the Yards neighborhood.
