Deputy Darin Keefe was a Cook County Sheriff’s Deputy who was transporting a prisoner when he crashed into a viaduct. He was mortally injured in the process as the firefighters of Truck 81 and Rescue Squad 3 attempted to save him while the prisoner he was transporting took advantage of the incident and tried to escape. He was taken to Chicago Med, but later succumbed to his injuries.
