Danny Kavanaugh is a disgraced ex-cop who was taking money from gangsters like Thomas Campbell. He provided Campbell with intel that nearly got Severide and Kidd killed. He was later stripped of his badge and arrested. Later, Pryma urged Severide to let Kavanaugh walk in order to take down a more ruthless kingpin named Vin Martucci.
